The Bellarine Peninsula resides adjacent to both ocean and bay environments with so much to explore. Many of our projects therefore have a coastal and marine focus - see below for some great examples that you can get involved with.

Caring For Our Bays

The Caring For Our Bays program is an innovative program that aims to lift the profile and appreciation of Corio Bay and the Bellarine shoreline of Port Phillip Bay, raise awareness of litter and its impact and reduce the amount of litter, sediments and nutrients that enter the waterways.

Ramsar

Bellarine Catchment Network are being supported by the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority to raise awareness and educate the local community about our local Ramsar site 'Port Phillip Bay (Western Shoreline) and Bellarine Peninsula' , their importance to migratory shorebirds and how they can be protected.

Point Lonsdale Sand Monitoring Program

The Point Lonsdale Sand Monitoring Program is a citizen science project aimed at understanding the movement of sand at Point Lonsdale Front Beach.

Summer Shoreline Program

Each year during the January school holidays, we work closely with our partners to deliver coastal and marine focused activities across Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula. We work with Barwon Coast, Bellarine Bayside, the Borough of Queenscliffe, the City of Greater Geelong and Coastcare Victoria to deliver a range of environmental activities that engage, inspire and educate.
